What is a CNC Machine?
A Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machine is a sophisticated automated tool that uses computer commands to drill, grind, mould, mill, carve, polish, etc… A powerful computer is attached to the CNC to control and monitor the movement of its various tools. CNC machining makes it possible for AARNE to offer you high-quality models in a wide variety of materials, sizes and shapes.
How CNC Machining Works
A CNC machine creates physical models by using computer code and converting it into electrical signals. The computer of a CNC controls, automates and monitors the movements of the device through GCode. GCode is the name given to the control language of a CNC through which the machine is told to move certain parts at a specific speed, direction, angle, etc… The code also directs the tools of the machine to grind, mould, carve and polish the material. A CNC works on X and Y-axes, which means that it can produce depth and thereby create physical 3D objects.
Once the CNC has done its job, you receive a model that is perfectly designed and polished. Even hard to reach places can be cut, moulded and polished flawlessly to give the model an impeccable finish. The abilities of this machine mean that even the hardest and toughest materials can be shaped into outstanding models in no time.
Why CNCs Matter to You and Us
Our 5-axis CNC machines give you the freedom to have even the most intricate designs created out of a wide variety of materials. Be it plastic, stone, metal, foam or ceramic; any material you choose can be converted into the perfect model.
We have been utilising CNC technology since its early days, which has provided us with lots of experience in using these amazing machines. Today, our milling and moulding processes are being used to create perfect high-quality models. From minute to large parts, we have the CNC machining capacity to achieve the same excellence in every size.
You Get Experience & Reliability
With over 15 years of experience in creating models and prototypes, AARNE has delivered high quality, visually attractive models time after time. We have worked on prototypes/models for top companies, including Porsche, Harley Davidson, Nikon, Xbox and Domino’s Pizza. Our commitment to quality has remained a constant factor when developing models/prototypes. Using the highest quality materials and a talented team of CAD designers, CNC engineers and artists, AARNE aims to deliver perfection.
A Brief History of CNC Machining
Numerical Controlled (NC) machines were developed by John T. Parsons during 1940s-1950s. With the advancement of technology, these machines progressed to become computer numeral control (CNC) machines. After the introduction of minicomputers in the 1960s, the price of computer cycles fell and it became possible to use one minicomputer with a single machine to direct its movements. The invention of microprocessors reduced the cost of owning and operating
CNC machines for industrial, artistic and medical uses even further.
There are various types of CNC machines, including plasma cutter, lathe, surface grinder and milling machines. At present, these high-precision machines are providing excellent results in all machining and turning operations such as cutting, punching, moulding, grinding, carving, drilling, routing, etc…
Sophisticated as they are, a CNC needs little supervision. Once the appropriate instructions are input into the minicomputer, the operator can simply leave the machine to complete the work. To prevent mistakes from happening, there are sensors in the machine that detect abnormalities. Some CNCs also can contact the operator by phone if a problem arises during operation.
Quality with a CNC
A CNC is known for providing outstanding quality in very little time. Keeping up its promise for quality, AARNE invested in CNCs in their early days to provide you with the highest quality models and prototypes. We have been studying, experimenting and using this incredible technology to create remarkable models/prototypes. Making use of the latest CNC machining technology available, you can be sure to receive a model with perfect moulding, ideal finish and a beautiful overall aesthetic. If you are looking for perfection and professionalism, choose AARNE.
