We use vacuum forming to quickly and efficiently create plastic models and prototypes. It is one of the most effective and efficient methods for producing complete models/prototypes, components, electronic appliances, etc… made from plastic. However, like all manufacturing techniques, you need skilled designers and engineers to troubleshoot problems that crop up during the creation of complex models. AARNE’s specialised team of CAD designers, CNC engineers, artists and operators ensure that the finest outcome is achieved in design and construct in every model we make.
Types of Acrylic
Vacuum forming is one of the processes we use to create plastic models and prototypes. 3D printing, CNC machining, laser cutting and acrylic fabrication are other methods we use, often combining them with vacuum forming when producing a model. Depending upon the material used to build the model and the complexity of the design, a single or a combination of these processes are used.
After the model/prototype is ready, we use our paint and metal finishing services that give the model an excellent finish. Our designers and engineers have been working with these processes for many years, always delivering optimum results on time.
A Low-Cost Method
Due to the simplicity of this process, it does not have a high cost of production. In vacuum forming, a sheet of plastic is heated to a specific temperature until it becomes soft. It is then pressed against the mould, and any air between them is removed through a vacuum. It is a simple version of thermoforming, primarily used to produce plastic products and components on a large scale. As not every design is suitable for vacuum forming, we often combine it with 3D printing to develop complex prototypes and models from a variety of plastics and other materials.
Vacuum forming is an excellent choice for almost any kind of design created from plastic. If you wish to have a single model created or dozens, you can trust AARNE to use the highest quality plastic, the latest technology and skilled professionals, so your model is perfect in every way.
AARNE’s Quality
AARNE Model Makers and Prototypes have created models for high-profile clients, including Porsche, Nikon, Harley Davidson, Xbox and Domino’s Pizza. Our highly trained and experienced CAD designers, CNC engineers and artists combine their talent and skill to come up with highly complex models/prototypes, often created from just a concept.
After a model has been built, we will trim and finish it using a variety of methods to give it the perfect finish. The type of finishing we use depends on the dimensions and complexity of the model and the specific requirements of the client.
Models That Can Be Created with Vacuum Forming
Both big and small models, often large-scale production pieces are easily created with this process. This cost-effective method is greatly accurate but has certain limitations as well. It can only be used to create plastic models, it cannot be used for other materials such as marble, granite, metal, etc… For that, we use methods such as CNC machining, 3D printing, rapid prototyping, GRP moulding, laser cutting, etc… Having said that, a great variety of models/prototypes can be created using vacuum forming, including:
Model & prototypes
Packaging for stationary
Components
Promotional models and prototypes
Boxes
Automobile parts
Storage trays
Bowls
Signage
Panels
Models and prototypes of all shapes and sizes can be created by vacuum forming from a wide variety of plastics. If you want to have a plastic model or prototype created, you are welcome to discuss your needs with us by simply calling or writing to us. We also provide services in designing, 3D scanning, 3D printing, CNC machining, paint finishing, vacuum casting, laser cutting and more. Whatever your model/prototype needs, we offer you an efficient, timely and cost-effective service.
